Eric Wirba is the operations coordinator at Himalayan Institute Cameroon. In this role he oversees the day-to-day operations of the center, which include housekeeping, gardening, vehicle maintenance, security, and bookkeeping. Most recently, Eric has begun to work with the Total Health Mobile Unit, a traveling health clinic that serves many small villages in the area.

Eric grew up in Kumbo in a large family. He is the second-youngest of seven with five brothers and a sister. His older brother Dr. Ajume is a professor in the US and first introduced Eric to the Himalayan Institute in early 2007. When the Himalayan Institute came to Kumbo in the spring of 2007, Eric was part of the initial team that got the place up and running. Eric is proud to be a part of an international team: “HIC is a place where you meet people from different races and cultures who come to work for the benefit of the community.”
