Dear Friends,

For over 2 years Cameroon has been struggling with civil conflict and political unrest. Violence and uncertainty have become a part of everyday life, and innocent civilians continue to get caught in the crossfire. As a result of this ongoing conflict, hospitals have been shut down, children have been forced from their schools, and an unprecedented influx of internally displaced persons are stretching local resources. Existing within this volatile time is stressful and anxiety-inducing, and without proper coping tools, creates a lifetime of disharmony within the mind and body. To combat this, we are on the ground sharing children’s literacy programs, public health education, and meditation practices.

As we announce our annual campaign for 2020, Partnerships for Peace, we ask you to join us in our initiative focused on supplementing health and education services. In an effort to reduce stress and anxiety, we are partnering with thousands of people across Cameroon by honing our efforts on children’s outreach and education, as well as public health initiatives emphasizing breathing and meditation that can be used anywhere, anytime and by anyone to calm their minds and find peace within.

As some of you may already know, the Himalayan Institute launched our Year Long Meditation (YLM) initiative. Through this global group meditation practice, undertaken to heal and empower collective consciousness, people are participating from 105+ countries around the world, and our community in Cameroon is a big part of this. Being a part of Year Long Meditation is about more than going within—it’s about contributing to a global group practice that is changing lives all over the world on a daily basis. These resources have a huge, lasting impact on the communities we serve and these and your contribution to this group practice actively benefit our Cameroonian community as we all heal the world and move forward together in unity.

Creating change is a long-term investment and we need to continue expanding our outreach within this distressed community. With ongoing support, we will reach more people and have a greater impact on their overall health and well-being as well as their continued education. We ask you to join us in this life-changing work by donating now in support of our social impact. The impact your donation creates NOW will continue to develop for many generations to come.

We are changing the world, together.
