Cameroon has been in a state of civil unrest for more than three years. As a result of the ongoing conflict, many hospitals have been shut down, resulting in a critical gap in the current healthcare system. Our programs are oftentimes the only health resources communities have access to in order to supplement this loss of hospitals. It is within this context that the communities we partner with are dealing with the realities of COVID-19.Â
Today, as we announce our 2021 humanitarian fundraising campaign, the Village Health Relief Fund, we ask you to join us in our initiative focused on bringing health solutions to rural communities throughout Cameroon.Â
How we’re positioned to help
The Himalayan Institute Cameroon team has been focused in Cameroon for the last 13 years and is perfectly positioned to continue preventing the spread of disease, including COVID-19, through our public health education and one-on-one health services. Our team is highly knowledgeable, trained, and trusted by the local community, and is on the ground every day providing these vital resources to women and families during a time when rural communities can often be forgotten about.
