Mentorship & Life Skills Program
The Himalayan Institute Cameroon team has been providing a strong and stable sense of community for children in the region for more than a decade. We’re providing support and guidance through group and one-on-one mentorship, teaching stress relief through simple movement and breathing exercises, and building community through fun, outdoor learning activities.
Literacy Classes
Children have been unable to attend school for over 5 years, and are experiencing an unstable time in their lives. We are supplementing this lack of education through classes and group activities that support literacy, develop language skills, and build vocabulary. These enhanced literacy and comprehension skills pave the way for a lifetime of learning, expansion, and growth.
Computer Skills Training
Having the support of local educators and a stable peer community advances learning and calms hearts and minds during a time of conflict. We’re teaching typing, effective web searching, and core computer skills to adolescents—providing the resources to build a foundational and actionable skill set that will serve them throughout their entire lives.
